Cox Appealing Four-Game Suspension

Cornerback and special teams ace Torrie Cox is appealing his four game suspension thatCox was handed down Tuesday. Cox’s agent, Peter Schaffer stated that “there were some serious issues of the due process violations.” Cox was suspended for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. The suspension would start August 31st, meaning that Cox would be able to play in the teams preseason games, but would have to miss the first four games of the regular season.

Sources say that Cox’s violation had something to do with alcohol, and the league’s rules are less specific about alcohol, while they are very laid out when it comes to narcotics or drugs. That’s where Schaffer may feel he has a case with the league. If the appeal process for Cox lingers into the season, he would still be able to play until a ruling has been handed down.
