The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released veteran defensive end Simeon Rice, according to the team’s website. The site says the move comes after Rice failed a physical. Rice notched 69-and-a-half sacks during his six-year tenure in Tampa, ranking him third in franchise history. He has racked up 584 tackles, 121 sacks and 37 forced fumbles during his 11-year career with Arizona and the Bucs. Earlier Thursday, the team signed first round pick Gaines Adams to a reported six-year deal worth over 48-million-dollars. Later, they inked second-rounder Arron Sears and Sabby Piscitelli to contracts, while waiving tight end T.J. Williams and placing defensive end Charles Bennett on injured reserve.
