The Buccaneers host the Houston Texans tonight at Raymond James Stadium in the preseason finale for both teams. The Bucs are 2-and-1 in preseason play while the Texans are also 2-and-1. Bucs head coach Jon Gruden says many of the team’s star players will get little or no playing time tonight, and that includes Jeff Garcia, [...]

The Buccaneers trimmed their roster down to 75 by making a number of roster moves yesterday. WR Boston charged with DUI
I would suppose this would qualify as old news, but Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver David Boston was charged with a DUI offense. This offense originated oddly enough when Boston was discovered passed out behind the wheel of his Range Rover by a local police officer. The team, surprisingly or not, are standing [...]

Interesting tidbit from Pro Football Weekly:
“The word out of Buccaneers camp is that coach Jon Gruden has a new nickname for QB Chris Simms. Gruden has been heard calling Simms “basket case,” because something just doesn’t appear right with Simms, who has been slow to recover from a ruptured spleen and is buried on the depth [...]
Bucs Lose Cash, Olajubutu For Season
The Buccaneers have lost two young linebackers to season-ending injuries. Antoine Cash and Sam Olajubutu were placed on injured reserve Monday. Cash seriously injured his knee and Olajubutu suffered a torn Achilles during Saturday’s 31-19 preseason loss at Jacksonville. Head coach Jon Gruden says Cash was starting to come on. Meanwhile, quarterback Chris Simms did [...]
