Wyms Leaves Practice Early With Injury, FB Tuiasosopo Signed
Posted by Matt Loede on August 14th, 2007 filed in NewsThe Buccaneers practiced twice yesterday at Disney. Left tackle Luke Petitgout practiced
with the first team at left tackle and could play in Saturday’s preseason game at Jacksonville. Defensive tackle Ellis Wyms left the afternoon practice early with an undisclosed injury. Wyms was seen limping off the field only 15 minutes into the practice session. No word yet on the severity of his injury. Wyms is competing for the starting defensive tackle spot.
The team also added some depth at fullback with the signing of Zach Tuiasosopo Monday. He joined the Steelers in 2005 as an undrafted free agent and spent the regular season on the Steelers’ and Raiders’ practice squads. Last year, he spent the season on the Eagles’ practice squad before being released last month. The Bucs are looking at all options after Mike Alstott was lost for the season because of a neck injury.
