Cadallic Back on the Practice Field for Bucs

The Bucs got some good news on Thursday, as running back Cadallic Williams was back on the practice field, and signs are he might be able to play Sunday when the Bucs entertain the New Orleans Saints in their home opener.  Williams is suffering from bruised ribs that he suffered in last Sunday’s 20-6 loss in Seattle.  “I’ve been optimistic that he would play, and Thursday was a good sign,” coach Jon Gruden said; “although we’ll see how he feels (today) when we practice again.”

Williams rushed for 60 yards on 12 carries before he was forced to leave the game in the third quarter.  He was listed as questionable for the game on Wednesday’s injury report, but might be upgraded today according to sources.  “He’s a man of few words. He doesn’t say a lot,” Gruden said. “He’s played enough football, I think, to know whether he can or can’t. We’ll give him another day to see where he is after he sleeps on (Thursday’s) workout. We’ll have some dialogue before, during and after the game, I’m sure, about how he feels.”
