Tampa Bay Dealing with Numerous Injuries

The Buccaneers are dealing with more bumps and bruises after their 24-23 home loss Sunday to the Jacksonville Jaguars at Raymond James Stadium.  The biggest injury appears to be DB and kick returner Torrie Cox, who according to sources will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.  Defensive end Greg Spires has a calf strain, which should mean more playing time for first round draft choice Gaines Adams.  The rookie threw his helmet down Sunday after Spires got hurt and he was not called upon.  It looks as if he will play a lot more now with Spries out of there for Sunday’s home game vs Arizona.

The team also let go of running back Zack Crockett, as he was released after just a few weeks with the team.  The Bucs needed to add a healthy receiver and promoted Chad Lucas from the practice squad last Tuesday. Also coming aboard is fullback Bryan Storer. Head coach Jon Gruden said the move was made because Storer fills a need on pressing need on special teams, suggesting that Crockett may return at some point.
