Buccaneers Backfield Thin This Weekend
Posted by Stephen Rhodes on November 24th, 2007 filed in NewsThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers cannot seem to catch a break - specifically keeping their running corps relatively healthy. Running back Michael Pittman did not practice on Friday, marking the third consecutive day that he did not practice after re-aggravating an ankle injury he suffered on October 7 against the Indianapolis Colts that forced him to miss 4 games.
Bucs head coach Jon Gruden listed Pittman as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins; in addition, Gruden said that fullback B.J. Askew is questionable for this weekend. What will probably happen is that Tampa Bay will activate RB Michael Bennett and reserve FB Byron Storer more than likely will see action this weekend, as well.
