Report Says Bucs at the Top of the List to Play in UK Game in 08

Four teams have been put to the top of the list when it comes to playing in the UK in 2008, and the Buccaneers appear to be number one on the list. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Tampa Bay, along with the Chiefs, Saints and Seahawks are teams under consideration to play the game in October either at London’s Wembley Stadium or another large venue. This last season the Giants played Miami in the first overseas regular season game, and while the game was ugly, it also was not well received by the players or coaches that had their schedule disrupted by having to go all that way to play in one regular season game. At this point though with the cash the NFL made on the event, it will at least be a yearly thing.

do you know how much money the NFL made off the game? ’cause i imagine it wasn’t much more than they would make off a game in the states, especially when you factor in travel costs.

a better reason to hold the game overseas would be to attempt to expand the popularity of the sport, which based on the failure of the nfl europa would be a mistake.
