RB Foster and Bucs to Talk Next Week

Foster

The Bucs, who would like to add to their running back spot, have interest in former Panther back DeShaun Foster. The St.Pete Times reported today that the Bucs and the reps from Foster are talking. “We’ve had talks with his representative, yes,” GM Bruce Allen confirmed Saturday. Foster was let go last week by the Panthers. Last season he ran for 876 yards on 247 carries and rushed for three touchdowns. In his five year NFL career, all with the Panthers, Foster has run for 3336 yards and 10 scores. His best season was 06 when he ran for 897 yards and 4 yards per carry with three scores.

Tampa Bay is looking to meet with Foster sometime next week. They already have on their roster Earnest Graham, Michael Bennett, and Ken Darby, but at the same time, with the chance of adding a back like Foster, it would only make them better for 2008. If they don’t sign Foster, look for the Bucs to look the free agent route of even the draft for a back that would be able to help out the current stable of backs on the roster.
