Today’s Tampa Tribune is reporting that WR Eddie Kennison is still sitting by the phone, wating for a call back from the Buccaneers to see if they are interested in signing him to a contract. He worked out for the team last month. “He’s very interested in being a Buc and has made that clear,” said John Hamilton, Kennison’s agent. “He would love to play for Jon Gruden and hopefully we’ll hear from them soon.” Last season with KC, Kennison played in just 8 games due to a bad hammy, and caught 13 passes for 101 yards and no TD’s.

I think the last thing that Tampa needs is another injury prone player. With the talent that Kennison would bring would come the reliance on that talent. The fact that he has struggled with injuries is far to much to risk. In 2006 when Chris Sims went out due to a severe injury the Buccs had all their eggs in his basket. By bringing someone with experience to the team they are going to need to have someone who has not had injury problems and who can step in and make a consistent difference.
