QB Griese, Guard Sears Among Those Missing at Mandatory Minicamp
To the surprise of no one, QB Brian Griese was not on hand Tuesday when the Bucs took the field for the first time at mandatory minicamp. Griese hasn’t been a part of any of the teams other offseaon activites, and basically wants nothing to do with the QB battle that will take place this summer in Tampa Bay.
G.M. Mark Dominik did recently say that the club has no plans to make a roster move involving Griese or any other quarterback “until it’s a necessity.” Guard Aaron Sears was another player not on hand Tuesday – he has also been absent from the team’s voluntary workouts.
The Buccaneers won’t comment beyond saying that Sears is dealing with a personal issue, and it is believed that he is suffering from residual effects of concussions suffered during the 2008 season.
