Bucs Rookie DE Kyle Moore Blogs About Getting Ready for the Season

I am very happy to be a Buccaneer and I look forward to a great season.

Being drafted by the Buccaneers was a great feeling. I had turned off the draft on the TV because I thought I would go earlier, I was half-asleep, and all of a sudden, I turned it back on and heard that the Bucs had traded up. Right at that moment, I got a call from Florida, and ran into the living room to tell my family. Everyone was cheering as well as crying and everyone was very happy. It was just an overall great feeling that I will never forget.

It was a dream come true for me. I have waited a long time for this to happen and I am very happy that the opportunity is finally here and that it is a reality for me now.

As far as the OTA’s, they went very well. I think that the coaches are happy with my performance and me in general. I made some great strides in learning the defense. The terminology is a little different from at USC, but it is basically the same. We played a pro-style defense at USC so it has been a fairly easy transition for me so far. Overall, they went very well.

It is a lot to learn with special teams and the nickel defense. I’m listed as the starter right now in the nickel defense, and second string on the regular defense. Right now, I’m just learning and trying to figure out how they want to use me and doing the best that I can.
