The St.Pete Times says that Jim Bates may be with the team when they take the field tomorrow:

Things seem to be finally shaking out between the Buccaneers and demoted defensive coordinator Jim Bates as he is now leaning toward accompanying the team to Atlanta this weekend and coach Raheem Morris says he will encourage it. “Jim Bates is actually thinking about coming with us, and we’ve talked about it because he can help us in so many different ways,” Morris said. “So, we just have to wait until we get down there to see.” Morris said Bates would be working from the coaches’ box and it appears that, should be join the team, he would be in contact with Morris via headset to make recommendations or to merely be a sounding board. The decision will likely be made by the end of the day. “It’s kind of mine and his,” Morris said of the decision. “It’s what’s best for us. I want him to come. He wants to come. So, more than likely, he’ll be there with us.”
