“We Talkin’ ‘Bout Practice”

Not that the NBA is any different (unless you ask Mr. Iverson himself), but the Bucs came out with “flat practice on Friday” admitted by HC Raheem Morris and starting QB Josh Freeman that carried over heavily onto the field at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday.

Morris made a promise at the beginning of the season that this team would practice harder than anyone else and get would create turnovers and score touchdowns. The Bucs are now at the bottom of the NFC with a -9 turnover ratio (Josh Freeman has had 8 picks in the last 2 games) and 29th overall in points scored with 190.

Nothing has come into fruition with this team under the guidance of Morris and Dumbinik. Free agency has proved to be disastrous with the signings of Ward (3.5 rush avg), Clayton (8 drops) and Nugent (2.5 mil) who was cut after going 2-6 on FG’s to start the season. The list keeps growing with the firing of 2 Coordinators and extension for one who hasn’t proved much (Olson).

What the hell has happened since the Bucs were 9-3 and well on there way to the playoffs last December? We lost arguably the best DC the NFL has ever seen and a Super Bowl winning HC. All because ownership was afraid he might spend all of their $40 million in cap space on legitimate players to bring us back where we should be, Super Bowl contenders. Not create us into the laughing stock of the NFL. This team has only won 1 game out of there last 17. I cannot recall a breakdown of such epic proportions for a team that had consistently been in the playoff hunt for the span of the decade ; barring one 5-11 ’04 season.

I’ve backed Morris’ B.S. all year and after a pathetic showing against the Jets I can no longer support him or any of his cronies. After a season like this I will be mentally prepared for another over-haul next year. Let’s See what these Madden video game playing wannabe’s can do next when they travel all the way to the west coast (where the Bucs have been known to struggle) to take on a 5-7 Seattle team that just got smoked by the Texans.
