Phillips Not Alone On Campaign Trail For Morris’ Return

C Jeff Faine (and team captain) takes some time off from the offense to get defensive about his current HC and scapegoat, Raheem Morris.

Faine had this to say via St Petersburg Times,

“One hundred percent,” Faine said. “I think any time you’re drafting a quarterback (Freeman) in the first round, you have to give it an opportunity to see some maturation at that position. That position is so key, I think without seeing some true light on that, I think it’s very unfair for him to get the hook at this point.”

I agree, to an extent.  But when you hire and then fire 2 coordinators, sign a bucket list of free agents and admit your “bored” with HC duties. It’s an obvious sign of bad leadership abilities and total negligence to everyones strengths around you.

This guy failed to understand what he had on defense and was willing to bring someone else (Jim Bates) with a totally different philosophy. I say it’s time to pack your bags and move on.

Morris has been under major fire this week at One Buc Place, this is what he had to say in his defense,

“That is not my job to worry about my future,” Morris said. “That’s for mentally weak people. My job is to coach the football team, week in and week out. I have to go and beat Seattle (on Sunday). And then I have to go and beat the following team after that. Job security in this business, in case you haven’t looked around, there is a ticking clock every day.

“If I wanted to worry about that, I wouldn’t be coaching. I’d go be a reporter.”

HAHAHA! Apparently he doesn’t need to worry about feeding his family or paying his bills. “Thats for mentally weak people.” But then he follows up with “My job is to coach the football team week in and week out.” Obviously displaying some concern, FOR HIS JOB!

Press conferences have become unbearable. And so has his charade.
