Friday Morning News and Notes

  • The Buccs signed Doug Williams to a one year contract extension as the clubs director of pro personnel.
  • Cadillac Williams, Antonio Bryant and Jimmy Wilkerson have all expressed their desire to come back and play for Tampa. Wilkerson and Williams have made strong cases to be returners to Tampa this year. And Bryant, although who’s numbers don’t show, has made some spectacular catches and has displayed some of the best hands and body control in the league.
  • Bill Cowher rumors have been swirling over the Tampa area as it’s been said that owners Bryan and Joel Glazer reached out to Cowher last week. Although nothing has been confirmed by either party. I just can’t see the Glazers shelling out 10 million a year for this guy when they’re also afraid to spend money on F.A.. Not too mention this would be a dramatic change from their past, in where the fired Gruden and brought in a lesser known coach (Raheem Morris) for chump change. They also probably couldn’t be happier that this team is out of the race for the 1st over-all draft pick considering they would have to sign him to a guaranteed 25-30 million.
