Bucs a longshot to winning the NFC South in 2010

Sounds like the Bucs are not getting much love when it comes to winning the NFC South this year:

There isn’t much hope for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the NFC South in 2010 — that is if you listen to Jay Kornegay.

The Las Vegas Hilton Sports Book Director tells the Tampa Tribune that the Bucs are the longest shot on the Hilton board when it comes to winning a division championship, with Tampa Bay listed as a 25-1 dark horse to capture the NFC South. The most prohibitive long shots to win Super Bowl 45, according to Kornegay, are the Buccaneers and Rams, both listed at 300-1.

Korengay’s thoughts on the future of the Bucs, albeit grim when it comes to the betting lines:

“It looks to me like they’re going young, young, young. It’s going to be interesting to see how Josh Freeman develops in his second year. Now you’ve got him throwing to two rookie receivers (Arrelious Benn, Mike Williams and I’m not sure that’s a recipe for success.

“The jury’s still out on Raheem Morris as a head coach, and Tampa has a long way to go. It seems like they just don’t like to spend money down there. Going young isn’t a bad strategy sometimes — if you have the right young players. We’ll soon find out.”
