SS Sean Jones Has Starting Job Locked Up?

Buccaneers coaches say Sean Jones and Sabby Piscitelli are in a battle for the strong safety job, but in reality Jones is all but a lock to start opposite Tanard Jackson, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Piscitelli struggled mightily in ’09, his first year as a starter, often late in his decision-making. Jones, a free-agent signing from Philadelphia, is more physical and a better tackler. “They’ll go out there and compete and compete hard,” head coach Raheem Morris told the Times. “That’s the beauty of training camp-watching guys compete and watching guys who want to play. I’m really enjoying the competition. … To both men’s credit, they’ve been really complementing each other when they have to play together.”
