Bucs play the odds against the Panthers – and it worked

The Bucs played a little game of online Texas Hold Em Sunday at home, playing it safe part of the way but then laying it down late in a little game of poker against the Panthers in their latest win, 31-16 to move to 6-3.

They allowed the Panthers to hang around, but in the end, 10 fourth quarter points was the difference as the Bucs got a win they maybe a year ago would have blown.

“This team has done it throughout the season,” Raheem Morris said. “We got beat bad by the Pittsburgh Steelers and we bounced back. We came out got beat bad by the New Orleans Saints and we bounced back. It’s no different when you get beat by Atlanta. … You can’t have any hangovers. This team is too young for hangovers.”

In these poker games online, the Bucs played the odds, and it paid off. They knew they were the better team, and despite it taking awhile, it paid off in the end.

These types of odds will work against a team like the Panthers, but in big games coming up against the Ravens and Falcons, it might not be so easy. But today, it’s so much better to be 6-3 than 5-4.
