A Look Back at the Defensive Ends at the Senior Bowl

While according to Dennis Hickey, director of college scouting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Bucs try to interview all of the players at the Cactus Bowl, East-West Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl. They will also look at a variety of the free agents whenever they become available.

They are, however, most keenly interested in bringing in pass-rushing defensive ends and – to a lesser extent – linebackers who fit their scheme.

For those seniors in Mobile this weekend, the ones that flashed the most were Purdue’s Ryan Kerrigan who – while a little undersized – showed a great motor all week and got a sack in the game. I’m concerned about a lack of upside, but I thought he had the best overall week. Cal’s Cameron Jordan showed off his amazing physique and technique all week but didn’t do much in the game. Texas’ Sam Acho played with some anger and got a sack on Jake Locker.

Of the few sacks that were picked up in the game, two of them were un-called defensive offsides. Local Miami product ILB Colin McCarthy can definitely rush the passer as well.
