Buccaneers Unlikely To Use Franchise Tag This Offseason

The Buccaneers are likely to be one of a handful of teams electing not to assign franchise tags this offseason. Only linebacker Barrett Ruud and offensive guard Davin Joseph are free agents worthy of a franchise tag, according to the St. Petersburg Times, and Joseph’s agent, Ben Dogra, said his client receiving the tag is unlikely. “I would be surprised if they used the franchise tag on Davin,” Dogra said. “I don’t see that happening.” Re-signing Ruud and Joseph are priorities for the Buccaneers as they move forward, but the franchise tag will likely not be a factor in negotiations.
