Here’s who some people think the Bucs will take at #20:
Adam Warwas, Vikings Gab: Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri. “Smith has no business falling this far but the Bucs are not complaining. They are happy to see such a deep class of pass rushers in this Draft, as they need the help. Smith had a very good Combine and is unlikely to escape the top 20.”
Mel Kiper, Jr., ESPN: Justin Houston, OLB/DE, Georgia. This is a logical choice, given the incredible amount of pass-rushing ability in this year’s draft and the Bucs lack of sacks the last few years.
Joel Welser, Fantasy Football Toolbox: Akeem Ayers, DE, UCLA. “The Buccaneers need a pass rushing defensive end and Adrian Clayborn is a strong possibility if Tampa Bay is satisfied with his off field development. If they are not, picking up a versatile player like Akeem Ayers is not a bad option. Ayers fits better in the NFL as a linebacker and that is certainly a position where Tampa Bay could use an upgrade.”
What’s really frustrating is that the NFL Network is only doing top 10’s from its analysts right now. The way I see it, that’s understandable given the time restraints for “Path To The Draft” but are Mayock, Davis, Lombardi, Baldinger and Billick too busy to come up with a full mock for NFL.com?
