Tomorrow, Derrick Brooks Becomes President of the Tampa Bay Storm

WDAE first reported news that there will be a press conference to announce former Bucs middle linebacker and Super Bowl-winning, future Hall of Famer, ESPN analyst Derrick Brooks will be the team president of the Tampa Bay Storm. You can watch the press conference at 10:30 local time on their website.

Brooks has a keen eye for football talent, so I don’t believe this was a move inspired by the racism controversy of Tim Marcum, the ex-head coach. Whatever the case, the team’s profile will be raised strongly, given the popularity of this local legend. Arena team owners and presidents often appear at the games and in the advertising and the Storm were already a good team before adding Brooks. I personally had held out hope that he may get one more season in as a middle linebacker for an NFL team.
