Attorney for Talib Says He Should Be Permitted to Play in 2011

Aqib Talib’s attorney says he should be permitted to play in the 2011 season before his case is settled in March 2012. Talib is scheduled to stand trial for charges of assault with a deadly weapon from his role in a shooting March 21st in Texas.

When asked about whether Talib should be able to play, attorney Frank Perez told Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times

“Absolutely — Aqib has the presumption of innocence. Everyone should consider him innocent at this point I would hope they let him play this season and let him have his day in court. We are very confident and strongly believe he will prevail in court.”
