Buccaneers angry RB Blount: “I should be on the football field more”

Five carries for 15 yards.

The Buccaneers move to employ a two-minute hurry-up offense to initiate the third quarter helped limit running back LeGarrette Blount to only five rush attempts for 15 yards in Sunday’s 27-20 heartbreaking defeat to the Lions. Of those five attempts, only one came in the second half.  Blount, who declined to comment after the contest Sunday, responded Monday that he deserves to play more.

“I feel like…I’m a play-maker on this team also, so I feel like I should be on the football field more,” the Oregon product told Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times.

“We got away from our game plan. We got away from getting me the football, we got away from giving Mike (Williams) opportunity balls. It was just things like that…I don’t know if we panicked, but we kind of got away from that really early.”

The former Duck said coaches don’t trust him enough to play in the two-minute situations and opt to side with veteran back Earnest Graham.
