Source: Bucs safety Tanard Jackson reinstated from suspension

Buccaneers safety Tanard Jackson has been reinstated from his indefinite suspension, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports via an NFL source.

A fourth-round choice (106th overall) out of Syracuse in 2007, Jackson (6-0, 200) has started all 46 of his games of his NFL career, tallying 204 tackles and a quarterback sack, with 8 picks and 24 total passes defensed. Jackson was suspended last September (22nd) after another violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. He became eligible to apply for reinstatement late last month.

The 26-year-old former Syracuse standout also was suspended for the first four games of the 2009 season for violating the substance abuse policy.

After placing safeties Cody Grimm and Devin Holland on injured reserve, the Buccaneers may be open to welcoming Jackson back to the roster.
