Facts For Week 6

It’s funny that Leslie Frazier’s record is 4-7 and Brad Childress’s was 3-7 last season, should have been 4-6 if not for the bad end zone calls against the Packers.

The only reason Leslie Frazier isn’t 3-8 was he got to play against an awful Redskins offense, whose QB was – of course – Donovan McNabb.

Of the teams that fell to 0-4, three of them have won their division in their last three years – Dolphins, Vikings, Colts – and the Rams feature the winning defensive coordinator of the 2007 season’s Super Bowl Giants and the losing, record-breaking offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl.

Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson started out his career 8-6, is 4-7 since but the Seahawks were trailing in his last win when he got hurt.

Broncos QB Kyle Orton started his career with the Bears, going 13-6 in his first 19 starts with the Bears, then went 8-6 in his last 14 starts with the Bears. He started 6-0 with the Broncos and has been 6-21 since, though he played hurt in some of those starts.

Cam Newton and Curtis Painter each threw for 2 TDs in their first starts. Andy Dalton threw 1 before getting hurt. Newton had rushing and passing TDs in his second start but only got one TD in his third. Jay Cutler holds the record, throwing for 2 TDs in each of his first three starts.

The Packers are on game 3 of a 4-game streak against non-winning teams. They also have a three-game streak against non-winning teams later in the season.

The Panthers have crossed the 20-point mark this season more times than they did all of last season.

Projected QB’s the Ravens will face the rest of the year: Matt Schaub, Blaine Gabbert, Kevin Kolb, Ben Roethlisberger, Tarvaris Jackson, Andy Dalton, Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, Curtis Painter, Philip Rivers, Colt McCoy, and Andy Dalton. That’s 5 games against QB’s with more than 16 starts, 7 games against QB’s with fewer than 16 starts, 2 games against quarterbacks that have won playoff games. The Ravens defense is 5-1 against Matt Schaub, Colt McCoy, and Philip Rivers. The Texans, Jaguars, Seahawks, Bengals, 49ers, Browns, and Chargers had non-winning records.

By contrast, the Bills who have 8 INTs with just 4 sacks, are projected to face these QB’s the rest of the year: Eli Manning, Rex Grossman, Mark Sanchez, Tony Romo, Matt Moore, Mark Sanchez, Matt Hasselbeck, Philip Rivers, Matt Moore, Kyle Orton, and Tom Brady. There are 14 starting quarterbacks in the NFL who’ve won playoff games, the Bills face 7 of them in a total of 8 of their last 11 games.

9 Ravens have at least a half of a sack. 6 Ravens have picked off a QB or forced a fumble, 5 of them contributing to more than one. Last season, 9 Ravens had at least half a sack. 14 Ravens picked off a QB or forced a fumble, 7 contributing to more than one.

The last time the Raiders defense held a non-divisional opponent that finished the season with a winning record to under 20 points was when they allowed 17 to the Bengals on November 22nd, 2009.

When Sidney Rice gets 76 yards, his teams are 7-2.

Matt Moore is the 16th different starting QB since Dan Marino’s last start in the 1999 playoffs.

The Ravens have won 3 of their 4 games by at least 17 points each. The 2000 Ravens only had one such win in their first four. The 2007 Patriots won all of their first eight games by at least 17, but only three of their last eight by that much.
