Source: Gerald McCoy likely out for the season

More misery stemming from Sunday’s visit to the Big Easy.

For the second consecutive campaign, it seems Gerald McCoy’s season will finish on Injured Reserve.

Returning to the field from a two-game departure due of an ankle injury, McCoy suffered what teammates described as a torn biceps muscle during the first quarter of Sunday’s loss in New Orleans, an injury that will be expected to end his season early.

McCoy, the No. 3 overall draft pick out of Oklahoma in 2010, experienced a torn biceps in his left arm last season, but now is said to have torn the right biceps.

“Hey, stuff like that happens, man,” defensive tackle Brian Price said. “I feel bad for him because he had the same injury last year, just on the other arm. My heart goes out to him because I know how hard it is being on I.R. I just hope he gets better.

“We can’t count our losses and be sorry for ourselves. We just have to keep pushing.”

Now at 4-4, the Bucs have to keep pushing if they want to keep their division hopes and playoff ambitions alive – something that won’t be easy the next two weeks with games against Houston and Green Bay.
