Report: Colts release Manning, Bucs Interested?

Jim Irsay has informed Peyton Manning that he will be released, according to sources. Peyton Manning’s career as an Indianapolis Colt seems to be over. After 14 years, the Colts have made the decision that they need to move on. Manning and Irsay were spotted together on Tuesday, and they will hold a press conference today.

Peyton Manning will become a free agent immediately after his release becomes official. Many teams have already been linked to Manning, and there is a good chance that one team will be all-in on him. The Dolphins, Seahawks, Cardinals, Jets, and Redskins have all been rumored to have interest in potentially signing Peyton Manning.

Now Bucs fans, I don’t think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be going after Peyton Manning. The Bucs are committed to Josh Freeman, and Freeman is still seen as the franchise QB. Thus, it seems very unlikely that the Bucs will make a play for Manning. That being said, the Glazers do have about $60 million in cap room, so it’s definitely not a financial problem. But the Bucs aren’t known for taking big risks and signing Peyton Manning for $20 million per year would be a huge risk. The Glazers are unpredictable, but I don’t see this “dream” coming true.
