As you’ve probably heard by now, Ronde Barber will be returning for a 16th NFL season. He recently signed a one-year deal to remain in Tampa with the Buccaneers.
Ronde Barber’s new contract will be a one-year deal worth $3 million, according to a league source. This is a reduction in base salary, however, Barber’s deal reportedly has performance incentives included in the contract, which would make up for the loss of base salary. It’s too early to tell whether this deal is a bargain. It really depends on how Barber plays throughout the season. However, one thing is for sure, Barber will bring the veteran leadership back to the locker room.
