Bucs Come to Terms with DT Amobi Okoye

The Buccaneers have inked former Bears defensive tackle Amobi Okoye to a one-year deal.

Adam Caplan of The Sideline View confirmed the signing, adding that the one-year deal is worth $2 million and includes $700,000 in guarantees.

Okoye also had some interest from the Bengals, Broncos, and Patriots.

A first round pick (seventh overall) out of Louisville by the Houston Texans in 2007, Okoye had 5.5 sacks as a 20-year-old rookie and has totaled 165 tackles and 15 sacks during his 78-game career.

Okoye signed a one-year deal with the Bears after the Texans released him following the lockout. Okoye started just one one of 16 games for the Bears, but played in nearly 55 percent of the defensive snaps and posted four sacks, his highest total since his rookie season.
