The Buccaneers have come to terms with their first round pick, as the team has agreed on a deal with Mark Barron.
NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reported Friday the deal is worth $14.5 million over four years, with no offset language. Tampa Bay confirmed the deal Friday night that he inked the contract.
Last year’s seventh overall pick, linebacker Aldon Smith, signed a four-year, $14.384 million deal with the 49ers, which came with a $8.96 million signing bonus.
Barron was not on hand this past week as the Bucs rookies had off-field instruction before training camp. Many felt though he would be in camp on time, and now he will be.
He is a solid safety that should give the Bucs some help in their secondary for years to come.
