Report: Buccaneers Hire Jason Licht as General Manager

Licht

The search is over according to several reports and sources across the National Football League. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finally hired a general manager after searching for weeks. According to multiple reports, the Buccaneers have hired Arizona Cardinals executive Jason Licht as the team’s new general manager.

Licht spent the last two seasons with the Cardinals but was picked up after they went 10-6 in 2013. Licht’s hire will force the Cardinals to re-fill the position on Steve Keim’s staff. Licht was the vice president of player personnel this season and was relied on a lot by Keim.

After former general manager Mark Dominik was fired due to an unsuccessful 4-12 season, the Buccaneers set out their search and found Licht. Licht’s history before the Cardinals had him spending time with the Panthers, Patriots, and Eagles.

The Bucs need to do many things to improve the team – hopefully naming a new GM will be a positive when we look back 3-4 years from now.
