Bucs Bring Bobby Slater Aboard As New Head Athletic Trainer

The Buccaneers have named Bobby Slater their new head athletic trainer, Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reports. Slater replaces Todd Toriscelli, who recently left the team after 17 seasons to join the Titans in the same capacity.

Slater comes to the Bucs after spending the past 15 years with the Bears, where he most recently served as an assistant head athletic trainer and director or rehabilitation.

“We would like to thank Todd for his extensive service to the Buccaneers organization over the past 17 years,” Bucs general manager Jason Licht said in a statement announcing the changes. “We are also excited to welcome Bobby as our new head athletic trainer.

“I was first introduced to Bobby back in 1995 when we were both with the Miami Dolphins and I have followed his career over the years. Bobby brings with him a wealth of experience working with and treating NFL players over the past 15 years and we are excited to have him heading up our medical team moving forward.”
