According to Sports Illustrated, the Titans have denied a request from the Buccaneers to interview tight end coach Mike Mularkey for their vacant offensive coordinator position, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
The Buccaneers released offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford from his contract last month. Tedford had heart surgery last year and took a medical leave of absence from the team. Quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo called plays this season for Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay finished No. 29 in scoring and No. 30 in yards gained last season. Rookie wide receiver Mike Evans was a bright spot, finishing with 1,051 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
