WR Louis Murphy to Miss Rest of 2015 with ACL Injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Houston Texans

The Buccaneers will miss wide out Louis Murphy for the rest of the season, as today coach Lovie Smith stated the WR is headed to injured reserve with a “significant” ACL injury.

The injury took place in the 31-30 loss to the Redskins in the first quarter after he caught a 29-yard pass and was tripped up and immediately seen grabbing his right knee before needing assistance from the trainers.

“It’s about the next guy up,” Smith said. “Donteea Dye has stepped up and given us some good reps. With Louis down of course, I would say we’re going to move another guy up. Adam Humphries has been in that role before. But we’ll just look at our options and go from there.”

On the season Murphy had hauled in 10 passes for 198 yards and no touchdowns. He had a long of 54 yards. Last season he caught 31 passes for 380 yards and two scores.
