Buccaneers Land Former Eagles DE Vinny Curry with Three-Year Deal

The Buccaneers have reportedly landed former Eagles defensive end Vinny Curry on a three-year, $27 million deal with $11.5 million in guaranteed money according to Jenna Laine of ESPN.

The 29-year-old Curry, originally a 2012 second-round pick out of Marshall, had spent his entire six-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles until his release yesterday. The Eagles had already obtained former Seahawks DE Michael Bennett in a trade and opted to cut the talented Curry rather than pay him the $5 million in guaranteed money due Sunday. It may be a decision that haunts the Eagles as Curry was absolutely dominant in 2017, grading out as the 10th-best 4-3 defensive end in the league.

Enter the Bucs, who are desperate to upgrade their woeful defense from 2017 and bringing in a Super Bowl champion to their locker room is a big boost. Curry is the second Eagles lineman to join Tampa after they signed nose tackle Beau Allen.
