For Bucs fans that want Cadillac Williams to be a part of the running attack in 2008, the good news is he’s been at the voluntary OTA’s recently. While he may be pushed on the Physically Unable to Perform List, he still may have a part on the team this season if he can come back from the injury last season that forced him to miss most of the year. “It’s a long progress, but I’ve come a long way,” he said. “Earlier on, there were bumps in the road. But now, things are starting to smooth out. I’m starting to do things on the field, a little cutting here and there. I’m just taking it day by day, just continuing to work and seeing how the process goes. We’re going to make a decision in July and take it from there.”

The Buccaneers have a contract dispute on their hands involving quarterback Jeff Garcia. The Pro Bowler says he’s still not happy about his contract which pays him two-million-dollars in base salary this season. That’s well below the salary of big time starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Garcia expressed his continued unhappiness yesterday at the team’s OTA workouts and did not rule out a holdout at some point. In other team news, defensive tackle Jovan Haye signed his one-year tender offer for about two-million-dollars. Haye was a restricted free agent and played well last season with six sacks.

Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune says that Bucs fans that are hopeful that WR Chris Henry may be headed for Tampa Bay should not get their hopes up. Cummings said he spoke to the agent for Henry, who the problem-child WR formerly of the Bengals, and was released after his latest run-in with the law. The agent said that his client is getting interest from two teams, but that the Bucs are not one of them. The team did draft a WR in the second round, Dexter Jackson, and hopefully he can help out the WR spot in 2008. Henry is going to catch on somewhere, but in the end, he’s not worth the trouble that Jon Gruden and company would get with him on the roster this upcoming season.
