The Tampa Bay Buccaneers began their three day mini-camp yesterday at One Buc Place. The team had practice yesterday and will practice again today and tomorrow. Defensive end Simeon Rice is on hand but he’s not practicing as he continues to rehab from shoulder surgery. The team says he will be ready for training camp. The quarterback situation is getting a lot of attention.
Jeff Garcia is taking snaps with the first team offense ahead of Bruce Gradkowski and Chris Simms. Jake Plummer is still retired but head coach Jon Gruden says he would still love to have him in camp. In addition, the team signed two players that tried out for them last month. Punter Sean Douglas and defensive end Jeremy Pittman were signed and kicker Garret Rivas along with linebacker Jerry Mackey were released. All four players were undrafted college free agents.
