The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in an attempt to bolster their running attack, signed running back Zack Crockett to a contract; terms were not disclosed. Crockett, a 13-year veteran, has played for different teams previously – the Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts. Crockett figures to serve as a short-yardage back to complement incumbent Earnest Graham. To make room for Crockett, the Buccaneers placed quarterback Chris Simms on the injured reserve list.
