Former Bucs OG Sears Gets More Time for Court Hearing

The Tampa Tribune reports that ex-Bucs OG Arron Sears has been granted more time for his upcoming court hearing.

Lawyers for former Buccaneers guard Arron Sears were granted more time on Thursday to prepare for a status hearing for their client, who is being held without bond and the hearing was set for April 6. Sears’ legal issues stem from a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer in June at Tampa General Hospital, where Sears was hospitalized under the Baker Act.

After he failed to appear for a court hearing, Sears was arrested on Nov. 13, found in a busy road, on a warrant of outstanding battery on a law enforcement officer. However, when Sears missed a court appearance in December, Circuit Judge Kimberly Fernandez issued another warrant. Sears was arrested on Feb.2 and remains in a Hillsborough County jail.
