The Buccaneers announced that they have placed rookie running back Allen Bradford on waivers.
A 2011 sixth-round pick (187th overall) out of USC, Bradford had 24 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown with three tackles on special teams in the preseason, earning a spot on the 53-man roster. The 5-foot-11, 235-pound Bradford was inactive the first four weeks of the season before gaining 13 yards on five carries in the Buccaneers’ 48-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
On the same day LeGarrette Blount was once again held out of practice, the placement of Bradford on waivers is a bit of a surprising move. However, if Bradford clears waivers, he’ll presumably be re-signed to the practice squad and could be signed back to the active roster.
The Buccaneers have not announced a corresponding roster move, though it could be to add reinstated safety Tanard Jackson to the 53-man roster.
